Yes... I know I haven't posted in ages!!! Its been unfortunate, I didn't have access to the net and all, so for a while I recorded my movements on my comp (here they are), after that I just got bored and fed-up! So, anyway, I continued my running programs till about 25th July, and then fell off the wagon :(
Then I realised the 5k race is a bit too close for comfort (1st November), and I started running again about 3 days back. I did 3.2kms the first day and 3.6 the next, which was PRETTY awesome considering I had been out of touch for nearly a MONTH!! So I'm back now... and I intend to run 4 days a week and dance 2 days week till I bounce my way into my goal weight!! I ALSO intend to finish the 5k at a respectable time... say about 35mins...
I'll be updating regularly now... So pray with me :)
2nd July
3mins jog, 1.5mins walk, 5mins jog, 2.5mins walk, 3mins jog, 1.5mins walk, 5mins jog
3rd July
5km walk/jog
I tried to see how long I could run at a stretch yet. I managed a solid 8mins the first time, and 5.5mins the second. How AWESOME is that?? =)
4th July
5mins jog, 3mins walk, 5mins jog, 3mins walk, 5mins jog
5min runs feel easy now… so this one was not a problem at all.
7th July
1min walk, 5mins jog(36mins in all)
Torturous… By the time I reached my second-last run, I was ready to just lie down there on the road. The last 5mins were HORRIBLE, I was just praying I don’t collapse and die. I slowed down lots, but time just went so slowly. And that’s all the more reason I felt awesome about finishing it!
8th July
8mins jog, 5mins walk, 8mins jog
Pretty easy, because I already knew I could do 8mins, plus I got a nice long breather of 5mins in between. Too good to be true, actually, but the real test is the 20mins run!!
9th July
1min walk, 5mins jog(36mins in all)
Maybe it was psychological, but this one felt far easier than the previous day’s(at the same pace). Whatever, I managed fine. Going great… I’m feeling prouder and prouder of myself! =)
10th July
20mins jog
AAAHHHH!! The big one! I never imagined I’d be able to do this… but I did! I was like HOW can anyone go from 8mins to 20mins in one jump? Now I know… CAUSE I DID IT!!! I did NOT feel like collapsing even at the very end, haha, and I did NOT want to lie down right there! Yayyy!! I ran a whole 2.6kms… maybe it’s a little slow(this speed brings my 5k time to just below 40mins)… but whatever man… I DID IT!! Yayyy!!!
13th July
1min walk, 6mins jog(35mins in all)
Whoa… This was close to torture. I guess that was because of the 2 day break. I started out really enthusiastic, and covered almost a km in 7mins(1min walk and 6mins jog). So, according to calculations, I should’ve finished nearly 5kms in 35mins. I managed somewhere around 4.1 to 4.2kms. Not bad, but I was EXHAUSTED at the end and did REALLY slow jogging! Hope the next few workouts are easy!!

28th June
1mins walk, 3mins jog(32mins in all)
500skipping
I'm not going to lie... ow ow ow ow OWWW!!! But again... once it was done it felt easy. I used a pedometer today... and I saw I just walked 1.3 miles?!?! That was weird... I had thought it would be atleast 2 miles!! I mean... if it's taking me 32mins of walking/jogging to do 1.3 miles... how on EARTH am I going to manage 3.1miles in 30 mins in JUST 4 weeks more???
I hope it gets better... cause I don't think I can jog fast enough to cover up the distance gap. Hmmm...

27th June
3mins jog, 1.5mins walk, 5mins jog, 2.5mins walk, 3mins jog, 1.5mins walk, 5mins jog
500 skipping
I've seen the first round of running is the WORST!! The second and third were ok, and the last one was torture, but bearable. I think it's more boredom , than anything else. I run in my garden, it takes me 1.5mins to run around its boundaries, so I keep changing routes, cutting through sometimes, and running the whole edge sometimes.
By the way, the days I'm doing the Couch to 5k program(like today), I use Robert Ullrey's podcasts. They're helpful. They help me maintain my speed(I think my speed has actually improved since I started using his podcasts), and I don't have to time myself with a stopwatch as he mentions when it's time to change pace. You can take a look at them here.

26th June
1mins walk, 3mins jog(32mins in all)
500skipping
OmiGOD!! Today was horrendous... Every 3minute jog took most of what I had, but they were quite ok once i got done with them. The last one seemed to go on and on and on and on and... ok you get the point.
What I don't get is how on EARTH I'm going to be able to run 30 WHOLE minutes in 4 weeks? I mean, I do have full faith in the programs, but 3-5mins is a lot. And 30mins is like 10 times of that!! Phew!!
I'm just praying it'll keep going great, I like pushing myself, I have something to look forward to always. Yayy!!
I'm going to try to increase my skips to 1000 soon. But I think that'll take some time. 500 used to be easy earlier, but since I do it after the runs, it's getting harder as the runs are getting longer. Phew!

25th June
3mins jog, 1.5mins walk, 5mins jog, 2.5mins walk, 3mins jog, 1.5mins walk, 5mins jog
500 skipping
Pretty cool, huh? Today was incredible... When I finished my first 5min jog, I was elated, of course :) But by the end of the last 5min jog, my knees were crying out to me to STOP! But I knew I'll regret stopping, so on I went. AMAAAAZING feeling. Really! The after run feeling has to be THE best!!
IF anyone's reading this... I highly reccommend running. Don't worry about being too unfit or too fat or whatever. THAT is the reason I took so long to start, I kept procrastinating. But, finally, I'm so glad I made myself do it. Jogging five mins straight is a big deal for someone like me!!

24th June
1mins walk, 3mins jog(24mins in all)
500skipping
Today was a surprise... I was terrified at the thought of running SIX whole cycles of 1min walk, 3min jog sessions. Aaahh!! But I did it! Halfway through my first round, I nearly stopped. But I kept repeating this one phrase that I came across today
Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever.
Easier said than done though, I've got to run one bout of 5 WHOLE minutes tomorrow!! Wish me luck!! :D
